Step 1) Go to Barcode express main screen > MENU > "New item" Button
There you see two barcode related options, "Custom barcode" and "Web product code search".
"Custome barcode" is very simple barcode reader. If you have created, been using your own barcode for inventory management, this is the option you want to use. Since these barcodes are not registered in any product database in internet, there's nothing we can get from Web product code search.
"Web product code search" is for the barcode printed on product packaging (i.e Books or DVD). In the screen, you will conduct barcode search using Amazon's product database.
Step 2) Select "Web product code search"
In the screen, you can either (1) manually type the product code or (2) run barcode scanner.
Step 3) Press the button with barcode image which is located next to code type button. It will open up your barcode scanning application.
Step 4) Scan barcode. For test purpose, please use any book or movie. They are the easiest.
If Barcode Express find the product in Amazon database. It will open up a pop-up window with the product detail and product picture.
Step 5) At the bottom of the "Product detail" pop-up, there are two import buttons, "Import all info" and "Import image only". Press "Import all info". then the pop-up will be closed and you will see new inventory item is created.
